Pregnant Students

 

Since the school year of 2012-13, the rights of pregnant students have taken effect that were approved by the Council of Higher Education.

For the first time the academic rights have been fully addressed for pregnant students, who have had to deal with the complex balance between parenting and education without support from academic institutions.

Some of the new regulations include:

exemption from exams and submitting assignments, exemption from attending classes, and the option for the school to freeze the studies and to create a new plan for the student post-pregnancy. (Among the significant achievements of the new regulations is that the academic institution will be responsible for funding the extension of grants to those found in parental leave not at the expense of research budgets).
